Alvin Chivondo was again arrested for shoplifting in the month of May, not too long ago. This Thursday, he was arrested at Naivas Supermarket in Nairobi’s Ronald Ngala Street. He is now in police custody. Nation Africa was informed by David Barriu, the Nairobi central sub-County police commander, that Mr. Chivodo had been released again after one month. He was taken into custody in April by Milimani Chief Magistrat Wendy Kagendo. He admitted that he had stolen and handled stolen goods from Naivas Kenya for Sh31,165. He was sentenced to one year imprisonment with a fine in the amount of Sh100,000. The court heard him tell that his family was starving so he had committed a crime. The court was assured that he would never shoplift again. Court was also informed that he was also taken into custody on April 3, 2022, for stealing items from the supermarket.
