The Fairfax County Police dispatched an officer to the scene shortly after receiving the call. They took control of Tysons Corner Mall, and began evacuating it and rescuing those who were trapped. Kevin Davis, chief of the Fairfax County Police Department said that the fight took place on Tysons Corner Mall’s second floor between two groups. An armed man fired multiple shots into the mall. The Fairfax County Police chief stated that each group consisted of three men. Police officers also found bullets and shell casings on the second floor Tysons Corner Mall. A spokesperson for Fairfax County Police stated that although no one was injured in the shooting incident, three people were hurt while trying to flee the Tysons Corner Mall after Saturday’s chaos caused by gunfires. The investigators and detectives remain on the scene, and are continuing to examine the case as they can cause more damage if it goes wrong.

Police officers immediately evacuated the mall and Tysons Corner Mall was closed for the remainder of Saturday.
