A cyclist who competed in the Commonwealth Games previously set a new record by completing the West Highland Way in 2020. Wardell is a Glasgow native who had been racing mountain bikes since his 20s. However, he only became a professional in this year’s race. When he was just 20 years old, he began his professional career in mountain biking.
