According to the report, authorities began an investigation into drug trafficking networks in June 2021. These were the individuals who initially resided in York Region and were responsible for trafficking controlled substances. The inquiry revealed that this group was also responsible in trafficking controlled substances into the Graeter Toronto Area as well as other areas of Ontario including Durham Region, London and the Kawartha lakes area. The scope of the investigation increased and a group consisting of investigators from York Regional Police, Durham Regional Police Services as well as the London Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police and Toronto Police Service confirmed that Project Entrust was a joint-forces operation. After verifying the Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario’s budget, York Regional Police and its partners studied the individuals for over a year before they arrested and charged the suspects.

An investigative search and 19 warrants were used to arrest 25 people for 113 criminal offenses in June 2021 and 2022. Officers confiscated illegal drugs worth $1.7 million, including 7.5 Kilograms methamphetamines, 2.7 Kilograms cocaine, 18 grams crack cocaine, 534g of fentanyl, 115 Oxycodone pills and 89 Hydromorphone pills. Investigators also confiscated $136,000 in Canadian currency and $ 23,000 worth of firearms, ammunition, and magazines. Two vehicles robbed were recovered, and one vehicle was taken as profit.
