Walker, along with Trevor Lee, left Epson & Ewell to join the Lions in 1975. He gained popularity later and helped the south London team to be promoted to the Second Division. He is the uncle to current England and Southampton defender Kyle Walker–Peters. In July 1979, he moved to Charlton on a PS120,000 contract. There he played the rest of his playing career, ending his time with Boavista in Portugal. Walker moved back to England, where he established a soccer school at Wandsworth in south London.
