This is raising concerns among parents and citizens, who demand strict regulations for schools. Schools’ education departments are also concerned about students’ safety and morality and are working to improve it. However, one video shows that all their efforts have failed. After the viral video of their students goes viral on social media, one such school is currently in controversy. Leondale High School in Gauteng is the latest institution to be embroiled in a scandal over viral videos showing shocking levels of misconduct.
Video clip showing a group of students in school uniforms operating a marijuana steam engine, and clearly in no position to return to class to absorb information nearly dwarfs the Hoerskool Jan Die Klerk classroom altercation which went viral at the beginning of this week. Mmusi Maimane, a former leader of the Democratic Alliance, saw the footage and demanded that Angie Motshekga, Education Minister, resign.

Lesfufi visited Leondale High School on Friday 22 April 2022 and, after engaging with management, stated that at least 36 students who were caught smoking dagga in the school premises had been “removed and suspended from school.” In a tweet, the Gauteng Education MEC stated that “Their hearing will take place on Monday.” Follow For More Update Yemfoundation.org
Students proudly pose for the video, while others blow the smoke towards the camera. Others are seen dancing and acting strangely. This is just weeks after students at Gauteng schools were allegedly hospitalized for eating space cakes. Space cakes can be muffins, brownies or other baked goods containing marijuana that people consume to get “high”.
According to Gauteng Education Department students from Randfontein Secondary School in the West Rand, and Mamellong Secondary school in Tsakane were admitted into the hospital on Saturday, 9 April 2022 and Thursday, 7 April 2022. Keep checking back for more information.
