It is heartbreaking to learn about Lazar LaPenna, a 10-year-old Long Island resident who died too young. Sources say that the entire community and the family of the deceased remembered the 10-year-old boy. The 10-year-old died while participating in a Little League Baseball match on Long Island. Lazar was a fourth-grader at East School in Long Beach. Unfortunately, he has passed away. After running to first base, he collapsed and he died Friday, April 29, 2022.

How Did Long Island Boy Die

It happened at the Little League Field on Long Island. While running to first base, he collapsed. On Monday, Alice Gainer of CBS2 spoke with his family. Lazar took a cruise along with his family, and all of them celebrated his birthday Wednesday. Lazar participated in the season’s first Little League game. Kristin Thorne, the News Reporter, spoke later to Lazar’s dad at his house. After losing their child, the entire LaPenna clan is devastated. Gregg LaPenna stated, “Everyone has been so supportive. Although the cause of Lazar’s passing has not been determined, Gregg LaPenna who is also his coach, said that Lazar had been diagnosed with epilepsy many years ago.

He has been on medication since then and was being treated by doctors. His family said that Lazar was not allowed to play or participate in any other sports than baseball. They celebrated Lazar’s 10th birthday in a local restaurant before he died. But they didn’t know that this was the last time they would celebrate. Lazar’s father stated that Lazar still receives mail with some presents. He stated, “It’s so sad.” Lazar loved baseball and was a huge fan. Lazar’s older brother Gerry LaPenna was coaching first base at the time. His brother placed an arm on Lazar’s shoulder to help him avoid falling, but Lazar fell. Gerry stated that Lazar was a good child and loved all he did. EMT tried CPR on Lazar once, but they couldn’t bring him back. The entire town supports the family and sends condolences to LaPenna’s loved ones. The family of a son has lost and is now going through a very difficult time. League issued a statement saying, “Our deepest sympathies go to mother Monique and father Gregg, as well as brothers Gerry, Blaze and Blaze and the entire LaPenna clan.” We are sending our thoughts and prayers to them all.
