Cornwell Muleya Arrested

This took place between May and June. The IGG ordered him to appear in evidence and to produce all necessary documents. This order, dated May 23, 2022, was about the mismanagement of public funds, procurement, and recruitment at Uganda Airlines. Muleya was one of those officials who helped to revive the airline when it seemed almost impossible. Muleya was a Zambian who started to dig and spread his roots in the aviation industry back in 1995.

For more than eight years, he was the CEO and manager of Air Botswana Corporation. Later, he was promoted to Air Mauritius. He also served as CEO of Zambezi Airlines Ltd. and ALS limited in Kenya. He was appointed to the position of CEO of Air Uganda in 2013. He has worked in the aviation industry for over 23 years. However, 2022 was a difficult year for Mr. Muleya. The Works Minister sent him along with 12 other top officials to force leave and then gave them an indefinite suspension. Follow For More Update Yemfoundation.org

President Museveni issued the orders of suspension to allow for an investigation into the allegations of poor financial management, collusion with outside forces, nepotism during recruitment, and other issues. After being suspended for nine months, he was terminated. After a non-show at the mediation sessions, the case was referred the Industrial Court. The case is still in progress and there have not been any further proceedings. We will keep you informed of all details as soon as they become available.
